Kiln lakes is an old cement works chalk pit that is now a wildlife reserve. We had a big chat about deep water and how to stay safe near the water before we left the car. The children listened and took it very seriously. They managed their own safety well and risk assessed for themselves while we were out. Reminding friends not to step too close to the edge!
We found some fantastic Dragon fly larvae on the edge of the water and collected some to bring home to look at further!
The moss was really soft and everyone took their shoes and socks off so that we could feel it under our toes! It was like a luxury carpet!
