The smells of Christmas are just as important as the tastes and images. The whole sensory experience becomes etched in our memories and makes up our big picture of Christmas. I wanted the babies to be able to enjoy the Christmas scents so I made up some scent bags.
You will need:
- Christmas spices
- cotton wool balls
- silk bags
- plastic food bags
I put cotton wool balls in to a plastic bag and poured in a spice. Shook it up till all the balls were covered and then transferred them to the silk bag. Shook off the excess and tied up the drawstring handles.
Use a clean plastic food bag for each spice so as not to mix the scents.
I added cloves to one bag and I am going to make one with Star Anise once I have bought some.
