Today we went for a walk to find some conkers. They have not been very abundant this year unfortunately but we found a good few to add to our Autumn sensory box.

We found a rather large one still sleeping in its conker shell!

After school the boys decided to made Elf houses. Brendan graded them on how they withstood some tests that he performed on them. They were meant to represent weather conditions and falling pine cones and acorns.  Very real dangers for forest dwelling Elf people!

This test represents wind and  tornado’s!

He made his own house as well and performed tests on it too!

Here comes the wind blowing through the forest!

While the boys played this. both little “E”‘s were building towers and a place for their people to live. The new conkers came in very useful and were included in their designs!

Little “L” and little “R” played with the Duplo. They worked on joining their bricks together. I love watching toddlers working out how Duplo bricks fit together. It takes a little while but once they do it once, they seem to get the idea and then repeat it over and over. This happened today. The girls would add a brick to their tower and then both would scream with excitement and giggle. Then the other would add a brick and the giggling would start all over again!

Good start to the week I think!!
