Today was the day of our latest Hill End trip! Everyone had been looking forward to it and arrived excited and ready to go! We started with a picnic so that we had lots of energy for running around!

Hannah came with us again and brought her parachute with her. Heather and Hannah organised some parachute games while I looked after the babies/ toddlers in the mud pie area!

Little “M” loved getting her hands in to one of the buckets of mud and water that the older children had mixed.

I gave her a bucket of sand and mud to play with and she added some to the wet bucket, using a finger to mix it in.

The older children enjoyed the mud pie area as well. they ran back and forth from the outside tap to collect water to mix with the mud.

Lovely mud!

We enjoyed the tree swing, despite it being a bit wonky!

The youngest members of our group explored the little dens, sand pit and logs that were in the area.

“E” had a great time bug hunting. She was in her element!

Brendan had a little rest on a log!

We posed for our usual Hill End photo!

Very soon we were all heading for the stream with our welly boots on!

It became very clear, very quickly that wellies should be ditched and bare feet in the mud was the way forward….. and felt fantastic!
Some of us put more than just our feet in the mud!

It was a lovely opportunity to encourage team work and helping each other out. Someone would get stuck and others would come and rescue them!

The wellies were not totally useless though….., they made great shrimp catching nets!

Needless to say we had to stop at the tap for a VERY good clean up before heading home. Thankfully we brought a change of clothes for everyone and shoes as well.
