HOW TO MAKE …… A paper plate fish tank!

I thought I would share our Paper plate fish tank we made today. We are currently enjoying our Ocean and Sea creature topic and this seemed like a nice way for the children to take fish home with them!

You will need the following items.

  • Orange card or foam sheet

How to make your Fish Tank!

First colour in one paper plate. This will be the background for your tank. I would recommend offering a selection crayons in shades of blue for this but you could give total free rain on this and let them choose what ever colour of water they fancy!

Next glue or tape the pipe cleaners on to make seaweed. You could also use bits of tissue paper or other scraps that you think would work well.

Cut out a sand base from the orange foam sheet and glue it on over the bottom of the pipe cleaners.

Add stickers to make your underwater scene.

Cut the middle out of the second plate and attach some cling film to the inside. Tape works better with this.
Place this plate on top of the other to make the front of the tank and glue or tape the 2 together.
